Austin Butler‘s viral Elvis Presley accent had Vanessa Hudgens in tears. Ryan Scott published a Butler viral cadence Instagram post.

Scott captioned the picture, “He attended to Lady Gaga school of Oscar campaign acting,” which attracted Hudgens’ notice.

“High School Musical” alum wrote, “Crying.”

Scott was making fun of the Italian dialect used by the “Just Dance” singer in the 2021 movie “House of Gucci,” which many people thought had an Eastern European influence.

Hudgens’ response was precipitated when his voice coach suggested that the actor’s new accent might be here to stay. “That’s him giving that speech at the Golden Globes, as you watched. After Butler was criticized for still sounding like the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll during his victory speech, Irene Bartlett said, “It’s genuine, it’s not put on.

Butler, 31, and Hudgens, 34, dated for nearly ten years. During that period, the “Spring Breakers” star offered Butler to play Presley in a movie.

During a 2019 interview on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” Hudgens remarked, “We were driving along and we were listening to Christmas music, and then this Elvis Presley Christmas song came on.”

“He had recently darkened his hair. He is naturally blonde, and while I was watching him sing along, I said, “Babe, you need to play Elvis.

Butler gained attention when, earlier this month, recalling a story, he referred to Hudgens as “friend.”

“A month before I found out Baz [Luhrmann] was creating a movie, I was out with a buddy looking at Christmas lights when I started singing along to an Elvis Christmas song on the radio. My friend then turned to me and said, “You’ve got to play Elvis. Oh, that’s such a far shot, I thought.,” Butler recounted.

“I didn’t really sing for my buddies or anyone else. I was playing the piano while the same friend was present. I’m serious, she declared. You must determine how to obtain the rights to a script. Then, my agent called to inform me that Baz Luhrmann is producing an Elvis movie.

Butler and Hudgens began dating in January 2020 after first becoming acquainted at the sister’s birthday party of fellow Disney Channel alum Ashley Tisdale in 2011.

The model Kaia Gerber, who was present to congratulate Butler on winning the 2023 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his rendition of the “Hound Dog” singer, has since moved on with Butler.

For her part, Hudgens has been in a committed relationship with MLB player Cole Tucker since 2020.
