Damien Leone’s horror hit Terrifier 2 gets edition VHS release
Terrifier 2, the blockbuster horror film from Art the Clown and Damien...
Damien Leone teases a new film with Sam Raimi’s ghost house pictures
The year 2022 set a new standard for horror. Along with some terrific gory sequels, there was a tonne of fantastic original genre gems. This contained Damien Leone’s eagerly anticipated Terrifier 2 film. Art the Clown, a favorite of contemporary horror aficionados, returned in the slasher sequel, which was a huge commercial and critical success. Leone hinted that he would be working with horror icon Sam Raimi on his upcoming original project when speaking to Insider about the Terrifier franchise and its bright future.
I have an original project in the works with Sam Raimi’s production firm, Ghost House Pictures, remarked Leone. Therefore, if that occurs, that would be fantastic, the director continued. I’m really hoping that will come either before Terrifier 3 or perhaps shortly after. Leone also declared that Terrifier 3 is now being written.
This would be a match made in horror heaven if this mysterious project actually materialises. Before concluding his crazy trilogy with 1992’s Army of Darkness, Raimi established the horror genre in the 1980s with The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. Drag Me To Hell, one of his underappreciated horror movies, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the most recent Marvel sequel, are among his other works. Raimi hasn’t directed anything in the last ten years, but his production business Ghost House Pictures has created a lot of new horror classics since its founding in 2002. This contains Crawl, Don’t Breathe, The Grudge, and Evil Dead (2013). The studio’s upcoming horror project is the most recent entry in the Evil Dead series, Evil Dead
Making His Own Horror Legacy: Leone
Since Art the Clown terrorized the audience in the 2013 anthology movie All Hallow’s Eve, director Francis Ford Coppola has been pushing the boundaries of the horror subgenre by returning it to its bloody, gruesome origins. The slasher film Terrifier solidified Art’s reputation, and Leone’s concentration on practical effects immediately made him popular among fans of the genre. Terrifier’s gruesome killings have become legendary, despite the fact that its plot may be considered to be no different from other slashers. In addition to continuing Art’s insane behavior, Terrifier 2 also includes an epic, unexpectedly moving plot.
Leone treated horror fans to a treat by presenting a new complicated “final girl” in Lauren LaVera’s Sienna. It was not just one of the best horror movies of last year that made an amazing $14 million at the box office on a meager $250,000 budget. The Terrifier series was transformed by Sienna into a biblical horror epic, and Terrifier 3 looks to continue this trend. Regarding the third movie, Leone said:
“I definitely want to make at least one more. There may be two to tell this story and tackle all the ideas that I have in my head. Because there’s a lot more to explore with Art the Clown, the Pale Girl, Victoria, and certainly Sienna as our final girl. We will be following her journey to the end of this franchise.”
Even if the release date of his next collaboration with Raimi is still uncertain, horror aficionados are already salivating at the prospect of it. Nobody creates movies quite like Raimi or Leone. So, while we wait to see if Terrifier 3 and the new original horror project materialize, you can currently purchase Terrifier 2 on 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD.
