LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan announced ‘Jail Bharo Movement’ and asked his supporters to prepare themselves, BOL News reported.

While addressing the nation, the former prime minister said his party decided not to opt for a nationwide strike due to the worsening economic situation which will deteriorate even further, and instead chose to fill the prisons as part of their agitation against the government.

“We have two options. We could have gone for a wheel-jam strike and demonstrations, which is also a democratic way. Since the state of economy is so bad, it’ll worsen. I ask all my workers, the Pakistani nation and everyone to prepare for Jail Bharo movement,” he said.

The former premier, while addressing the youth and nation, added that his party will not remain silent quiet on the violence being inflicted on his party’s members and would now prepare Jail Bharo movement

Imran Khan said he wants to remind the nation that Pakistan was created for a purpose so that future generations will know the reason for the creation of this country. He said that the foundation of the state of Madinah was laid on justice and fairness without which no state can prosper.

He said that the rule of law is necessary for the improvement of the economy and the nation that backs away from its ideology dies, if it does not wake up as a nation today, then everyone will be responsible for this situation.

He said that the government of thieves was brought into the country under a conspiracy and when distrust was brought, the dollar was worth 178 rupees and today the dollar has become expensive by 100 rupees in 9 months.

Imran Khan said that the government is preparing to run away from the elections and is making cases against its opponents.

Imran Khan said that cases were made against Shahbaz Gill, Azam Swati and Fawad Chaudhry. He said Shandana Gul was being treated like a “terrorist’ and cases were lodged against her.

“Azam Swati was tortured in front of his children and granddaughters, while Fawad Chaudhry was arrested at 4 am and those who spoke against the regime change were oppressed,” he added

He further said that economic stability cannot come without political stability in the country. He said they dissolved the provincial assemblies but the governors have not given the date of the election. He said it would be unconstitutional move if elections were not held.

On this occasion, Imran Khan announced the Jail Bharo Tehreek to protest the high-handedness of the government. He said the government has made a plan to put him in jail and weaken him. He said workers and the nation should prepare for the movement and wait for his call.
