Police raided the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in Gujrat.
LAHORE: Police on Monday evening raided the ancestral house of former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in Gujrat, Bol News reported.
According to reports, police besieged the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and attempted to enter inside. A heavy contingent of 10-15 police vehicles reached Elahi’s residence and attempted to enter inside by climbing the walls and placing a ladder.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said police surrounded his residence in Gujrat and also tried to break in. “A heavy contingent of police is present outside my residence in Gujrat. They are trying to break into my house,” the former chief minister said in a statement.
PML-Q leader and former federal minister Moonis Elahi confirmed that police, FIA, and other law-enforcement agencies raided their house once again.
Moonis Elahi stated their house was raided without a warrant. “By raiding our house, you think we will leave Imran Khan. Think again,” he warned the government in a tweet.
During the raid, Elahi’s employees locked the gate from inside. Sources revealed there was no family member present at Gujarat residence. Pervaiz Elahi is in Lahore, while Moonis Elahi is currently abroad.
Police conducted the raid under the leadership of DPO Asad Muzaffar, who was appointed two days ago, sources revealed. A heavy contingent of elite force from more than 10 police stations of Gujarat police laid siege to Elahi’s residence. However, no arrest were made.
It must be mentioned that five days ago, the police had laid siege to the Pervaiz Elahi’s residence in Gujrat late night.
Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab also conducted a raid at Punjab Assembly Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti’s house in Lahore.
Bhatti has been taken into custody after Sindh Police. He was on his way to Karachi to secure bail from the Sindh High Court when he was detained near Matiari and taken into custody.
ACE official took a mobile phone, digital device from Bhatti’s house. Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials were also present along the police. Police took into custody Nabil, an employee of Punjab Assembly Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti.
