UAE Updates Work Permit Fees for Pakistani Freelancers
In Lahore, the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) issues 12 different work permits, which vary based on the job type, age of employees, and other factors.
These work permits enable MoHRE-registered establishments to hire employees.
Article 6 of the UAE Labor Law, Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021, makes it unlawful for anyone to work in the UAE without a valid work permit obtained through MoHRE’s established procedures.
Among various work permits, the ministry also issues a freelance permit, which is available to self-sponsored foreigners in the UAE. This permit allows them to offer services or perform tasks for individuals or companies without the need for sponsorship by a specific employer or an employment contract.
Pakistani freelancers can obtain a two-year UAE work permit and must hold a valid residence visa as a prerequisite for application.
The official website provides information indicating that the fee for a two-year freelance work permit is AED250.
