Sindh Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has revealed the introduction of two new routes for the Pink People’s Bus Service in Karachi on April 19.

Currently, the Pink Bus Service operates along the R1 route, linking Model Colony Malir to Tower via Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Sharjeel Memon chaired a meeting to review preparations for new transportation initiatives in Karachi and Mirpurkhas. It was decided during the meeting to inaugurate two fresh routes for the Pink Bus Service in Karachi on April 19.

One of these new routes, labeled R10 and exclusively for women, will travel from Numaish Chowrangi through M.A Jinnah Road, Zaibunissa Street, Metropol, Do Talwar, Teen Talwar, Mazar e Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Dolman Mall, and conclude at Sea View clock tower.

Additionally, the meeting resolved to introduce the People’s Bus Service in Mirpurkhas on April 20. Memon also unveiled plans for the launch of a cashless automated fare collection smart card service on April 25, aimed at offering convenience to commuters.

Earlier announcements by the minister on March 18 outlined the expansion of Pink Bus Service routes and the introduction of the People’s Bus Service in Mirpurkhas after Eidul Fitr. It’s noteworthy that on February 1, the Sindh government initiated the country’s inaugural Pink People’s Bus Service in Karachi, specifically for women passengers.
