Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has made a groundbreaking announcement, declaring that the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will now be responsible for issuing driving licenses nationwide. This move signifies a significant shift, allowing individuals from any corner of the country to apply for an Islamabad driving license.
In addition to this pivotal decision, Minister Naqvi has taken a firm stance against illegally tinted windows, ordering the cancellation of all existing permits. This bold step is expected to enhance road safety and promote transparency on the nation’s roads.
To streamline the process of obtaining an Islamabad driving license, Minister Naqvi has introduced special facilitation programs tailored for college and university students, as well as senior citizens residing in the federal capital. Under these initiatives, student licenses will be processed and delivered directly to their educational institutions, while residents aged 70 and above will have the convenience of receiving their licenses at their doorstep.
The launch of the Islamabad Traffic Police Facilitation on Wheels and Islamabad Traffic Police Education on Wheels, along with mobile licenses and learning vans at F-9 Park, marks a significant leap towards modernization and efficiency in the city’s traffic management.
In his commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure, Minister Naqvi has pledged to ensure the availability of parking in all commercial areas of Islamabad. He has warned of strict action against commercial centers that fail to provide adequate parking facilities, emphasizing the importance of accessible parking for the convenience and safety of residents.
Minister Naqvi’s directive to revoke all tinted window permits underscores his dedication to enforcing road safety regulations. He has instructed the Islamabad Traffic Police to facilitate license issuance for residents nationwide, ensuring that Islamabad’s driving licenses are accessible to all without any obstacles.
This nationwide access to Islamabad driving licenses marks a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to improve traffic management and road safety. Minister Naqvi’s initiatives reflect a proactive approach towards creating safer roads and enhancing the overall transportation experience for citizens across Pakistan.
