This initiative follows closely on the heels of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent announcement during his visit to Karachi, where he pledged to bolster the city’s transport infrastructure by adding 150 buses to the fleet. The prime minister commended the provincial government for its proactive approach towards enhancing public services.

Moreover, the recent launch of the Pink Bus service underscores the government’s commitment to gender inclusivity and empowerment. This service, exclusively catering to women and girls, provides complimentary rides for the first two months and thereafter at a nominal fare of Rs 50 per passenger. The initiative, inaugurated by PPP Women’s Wing Chairperson MPA Faryal Talpur, aims to establish a safer and more accessible transportation option for women, thereby fostering their participation in the workforce and societal development.
