KARACHI: The local court of Karachi ordered action against the beggars on the woman’s complaint.
Karachi Additional Sessions Judge West heard the case against the proliferation of beggars on the highways and traffic signals of the city, in which the court ordered a crackdown on the donkeys on the signals across the city.
The court said that the beggars and their facilitators should be arrested and legal action should be taken.
The Additional Sessions Judge said that action should also be taken against those who create a business network of corruption, and a detailed report should be submitted by taking action against corruption across the city on the order of the court, while the responsibility of implementing the court order should be given to the Karachi Police Chief, DIG East and West Zone.
The court said that all the officers should ensure the implementation of the court order, the Additional IG Karachi should submit a report on the appointment of the focal person and the action every month, and the institution established against begging should be made active.
The court directed the Director General Child Protection Bureau to cooperate with the police to prevent child abuse, to take on board the police and Child Protection Bureau, Social Welfare Department and other stakeholders for action.
The court remarked that the causes of trafficking like human trafficking along with economic compulsion should also be eliminated.
