After Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death and a debate on nepotism in the industry, number of celebrities including Sonam Kapoor had faced extreme criticism online.

Reacting to all the backlash, Sonam detailed how all the online abuse affected her mental health and let to her stress levels escalating.

During an interview, the actress said: “I had some stressful times in the last three or four months, mentally. There is a lot of stuff that happens on social media, there is a lot of hate and talk of a lot of things.”

“It put me in a very low and negative space. But now I am much better,” she added.

Following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, many actors with film backgrounds in their families, received heavy backlash.

Detailing the hate she received on social media, Sonam had earlier written on Instagram: “Yes I’ve switched off my comment section and my parents comment section because I don’t want my 64 year old parents to go through this. They did nothing to deserve this. And I’m not doing it out of fear you morons I’m doing it out of common sense to preserve my mental health and my parents.”

Sonam Kapoor Turned Off Her Instagram Comments 

Sonam Kapoor had also disabled her comments section on Instagram. The actress said that she feels sorry for the people with such hate in their hearts.

The actress said that such extreme hate and negativity is triggering her friends and family.

Earlier, actress Sonakshi Sinha had quit Twitter to stay away from all the negativity and hate ever since the death of SSR.

In her last tweet, she wrote, “The first step to protecting your sanity is to stay away from negativity. And no where more of that than twitter these days! Chalo, im off – deactivating my account. Bye guys, peace out.”

However, at the time of quitting, the Dabangg starlet had 15.9 million followers on Twitter. She had alsp interacted directly with her fans through #SonaSays sessions.
