- He served as president of the High Court Bar Association, Larkana from 5 April 2008 until 24 September 2009.
- Justice Ahmed Ali M. Shaikh served as Acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court twice from March 3 – 10th March 2016, and from 4 – 10th August of the same year.
- In August 2021, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh was appointed as ad hoc judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan for one year.

Early life & Education
Mr. Ahmed Ali Shaikh was born on October 3, 1961, in Larkana, Sindh. He had his early schooling at Government Pilot School in Larkana and graduated from the Government Degree College with a degree in science. He received his LL.B. from Shah Abdul Latif University in Khairpur.
Career
He was registered as an advocate of the lower court on 1 November 1990 and as an advocate of the high court on 15 March 1993.
During his legal career, Mr. Ahmed Ali Shaikh skillfully maintained his place as the top figure at the Bar. He was elected vice president and general secretary of the District Bar Association in Larkana in 1994 and 1995, respectively.
He served as president of the High Court Bar Association, Larkana from 5 April 2008 until 24 September 2009.
Sindh High Court
Mr. Ahmed Ali Shaikh was elevated to the position of Additional Judge for the Sindh High Court on 25 September 2009.
On 19 September 2011, he took the oath of office as a confirmed judge. He served as senior Puisne Judge from 15 December 2015 to 14 March 2017.
In addition, Justice Ahmed Ali M. Shaikh served as Acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court twice from March 3 – 10th March 2016, and from 4 – 10th August of the same year.
He formally took the oath and became the 23rd Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court on 15 March 2017. He will perform his duties till his superannuation on 2 October 2023.
In August 2021, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh was appointed as ad hoc judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan for one year. However, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh refused to take oath in a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed.
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan had decided by a majority of five to four that the SHC Chief Justice would be invited to become an ad hoc judge of the Supreme Court for a period of one year prior to his consent.
