Sardar Tariq Masood

  • In 1987, Tariq Masood was enrolled as an Advocate of the Lahore High court.
  • He remained Administrative Judge of Labour Courts, Drug Courts, and Consumer Protection Courts.
  • He will retire form the apex court on 10 March 2024.

Early life and legal career

Sardar Tariq Masood was born on 11 March 1959 into a noble family of village Saroha, Tehsil Kallar Syedan in District Rawalpindi.

After completing his LLB, Sardar Tariq Masood started practicing law in 1985 in district Rawalpindi. In 1987, he was enrolled as an Advocate of the Lahore High court.

Several years later, he become an Advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2008.  During his legal career, he served as President, District Bar Association in Rawalpindi.

Sardar Tariq Masood was elevated as Additional Judge of the Lahore High Court on 14 September 2009 and was confirmed on 11 May 2011.

During his tenure, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood contributed many reported judgments and accepted many administrative responsibilities.

Justice Sardar Tariq Masood remained Inspection Judge in Khanewal, Vehari, Pakpattan and Hafizabad districts. He maintained a cordial and harmonious working relationship with the Bars.

Apart from his legal duties, he served as Member Administration Committee of the Lahore High Court. He remained Administrative Judge of Labour Courts, Drug Courts, and Consumer Protection Courts.

Supreme Court of Pakistan

Justice Sardar Tariq Masood was elevated to the Supreme Court of Pakistan on 5 November 2015. He will retire form the apex court on 10 March 2024
