Emirates Telecommunications Group Company PJSC, presently known as e&, has obtained a 9.8% stake in Vodafone for $4.4 billion, it said on Saturday.

The move comes days after e& said it was hoping to venture into new business sectors in Africa, Europe and Asia and in regions outside telecoms, for example, monetary innovation as its looks to drive development.
