The agricultural sector in Punjab, Pakistan, is changing with the introduction of the Kisan Card by the Punjab government. This card aims to make the distribution of government schemes to farmers more organized and efficient, ensuring transparency.
To register for the Kisan Card, farmers can use a digital platform created by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). They need to provide details about themselves, their crops, land, livestock, irrigation, and machinery.
The registration process is now available online, making it easier for farmers to register from home.
Here’s how to apply for the Kisan Card:
- Open an HBL Connect Account.
- Contact the Agriculture Department staff for registration if you’re not already registered.
- Apply for the Kisan Card after registration.
- Apply for the Kisan Card at any HBL Konnect retailer by paying Rs. 500 and opening a biometric mobile account.
- Receive your co-branded Kisan Card at the agriculture office in 15-20 days after verification.
- Collect the Kisan Card from the Agriculture tehsil office after verification.
The Kisan Card initiative is a big step in empowering farmers and improving agriculture in Punjab, ensuring that government benefits reach those who need them while enhancing transparency and efficiency.
