The number of positive coronavirus cases in Pakistan has surged to 259,998  with 5,475 fatalities.

According to the government’s Covid-19 portal 2,085 new coronavirus cases and 49 deaths over the past 24 hours.

Whereas, 23,907 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovered patients in the country has mounted to 183,737 while 70,787 people are under treatment, of whom 1,895 are in critical condition. A total of 16,760,90 tests have thus far been conducted.

So far Sindh has reported 110,068 cases

Punjab 89,023,

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 31,486,

Balochistan 11,385,

Islamabad 14,454,

Azad Jammu and Kashmir 1,808 and Gilgit Baltistan 1,775.

Lockdowns Extended 

Sindh Lockdown 

Sindh government has extended lockdown in the province for one month till fifteen of next month.

A notification has been issued by the home department government of Sindh in this regard.

The lockdown has been extended to contain the spread the of coronavirus in the province by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in this regard.

Punjab Government Extended Lockdown Till July 30

The Punjab government has extended the lockdown in the province by 15 days till July 30 amid the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

Educational institutions, hotels, and wedding halls will remain closed until July 30, 2020. According to the notification, the ban on public gatherings will also remain in place.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman, issued the notification, according to which educational institutions, wedding halls, restaurants and cinema halls will remain closed till July 30.

Social and religious gatherings and sports activities will be barred.

Balochistan Lockdown

The Government of Balochistan has extended the smart lockdown till July 30 in order to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus.

Spokesperson Balochistan Government Liaquat Shahwani, while addressing media, announced that smart lockdown in the province has been extended till July 30th.

“New coronavirus cases in Balochistan have dropped by 50 percent,” he said

Spokesperson Balochistan Government appealed the public to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) during Eid ul Azha to avoid a possible spike in cases.
