Pakistan has confirmed 77 deaths in a single day by the novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 234,509.

The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 4,839.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC):

Cases in past 24 hours

2,691 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours.

Provincial Details

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the federal Islamabad.

Till now 96,236 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh,

82,669 in Punjab,

28,236 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,

10,841 in Balochistan,

13,557 in Islamabad,

1,587 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1,383 in Azad Kashmir.

Deaths

Furthermore 1,899 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab,

1,572 in Sindh,

1,038 in KP,

124 in Balochistan,

140 in Islamabad,

30 in GB and 36 in Azad Kashmir.

Furthermore Patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

Global Covid-19 details

The United States tops both in number of cases and deaths with over three million cases and more than 132,000 deaths followed by Brazil with over 1.6 million cases and more than 65,000 deaths.

Countries Running Out Of Life-Saving HIV Drugs, Says WHO

A number of countries globally say they are at risk of running out of life-saving AIDS drugs because of disruptions to supply lines and other problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

Twenty-four out of those 73 nations have already reported critically low supplies of the vital antiretroviral drugs, the agency said.

Moreover “The findings of this survey are deeply concerning,” the WHO’s director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement at the International AIDS conference.
