KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill must not be arrested in three cases registered against him in Karachi.
During the hearing in the Sindh High Court, the lawyers of the Tehreek-e-Insaf leader requested the court to prevent Gill from being arrested in the cases registered in Sarjani Town, Brigade and Rizvia Police Stations.
After hearing the parties, the Sindh High Court issued notices to IG Sindh and others for January 12.
Notably, Shahbaz Gill filed a petition in the High Court to bar the police from arresting him for making derogatory statements against national institutions.
The lawyer submitted that Gill has filed an application in the Sindh High Court to declare the cases registered in the province null and void, requesting that until the final decision on the application is made, the police should be prevented from arresting the PTI leader.
The court has asked the police and the prosecution for the details of the cases registered against Shahbaz Gill in the metropolitan city.
