A former playboy model, Karen McDougal has filed legal proceedings against a TV channel alleging that host Tucker Carlson falsely accused her of extortion.
Karen McDougal was claimed to have an affair with President Donald Trump.
According to details, she paid $150,000 for not revealing about her affair with Donald Trump.
McDougal claimed that she had an affair with Trump before he became the president of the United States (US).
Local media reports said that former model filed in New York’s state court against Fox News for allowing his host Tucker Carlson to make accusations against her, which briefed that Carlson alluded to payoffs to McDougal and to porn star Stormy Daniels.
“Two women approached Donald Trump and threatened to ruin his career and humiliate his family if he doesn’t give them money,” Carlson said. “Now that sounds like a classic case of extortion.”
Carlson had claimed in December 2018 that McDougal extorted Trump for a payment of $150,000 in August 2016.
In the suit, McDougal says she never approached Trump to demand money.
Instead, her attorney approached the National Enquirer in 2016 to sell her story.
The Enquirer, then owned by American Media Inc., agreed to pay McDougal $150,000 for the rights to her story.
Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, admitted that he had agreed to reimburse AMI on Trump’s behalf for the purpose of suppressing McDougal’s story.
“The payment to McDougal had nothing to do with extortion,” the lawsuit states.
Karen McDougal is an American model and actress. She is known for her appearances in Playboy magazines.
