Many Bollywood celebrities have taken clear positions against the violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Bollywood celebrities including Deepika Padukon,Tapsee Pannu, Dia Mirza, Richa Chadda, Swara Bhasker, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Konkona Sen, Sonam kapoor showed their support to JNU students and teachers who were attacked on campus by masked mob.

Many celebrities also reached JNU and expressed their solidarity with students.

on the other hand these celebrities are slammed by Indian nationalist on Twitter and they have been called  Anti-national for raising their voice against the violence on unarmed students of JNU.

The leading actress Deepika Padukoon were mocked by Indian Twitterati and #boycotChapaak is trending on Twitter in India.

Deepika’s movies Chapaak is a story of acid survivor, a young woman who tries to rebuild her life after a man throws acid in her face on a public street in New Delhi in 2005.

Actor Taapsee Pannu Dia Mirza and other Bollywood personalities were also badly trolled on Twitter in India to join protest in Mumbai in support of JNU students, teachers.

While these significant stars have collectively condemned the violence on the other hand there is a deafening silence from the biggest of Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.
