The first episode of #Messiah has the main character, a CIA agent, touting Huntington’s Clash of Civilizations thesis as the best explanation for global conflict. Is it too much to hope that by the end of series, she has read Edward Said and decided to leave the CIA?

AdvertisementWhat a shocker that Netflix’s Messiah, having white people producers, created out of blood-soaked settler colonialist media has been, thus far:
– orientalist and racist
– feeding into Islamophobic tropes
– pro-CIA fascistic bullshit
– spotlighting IDF propaganda#MessiahNetflix— هـانْ (@queershia) January 2, 2020
