One of Pakistan’s versatile singer Ali Sethi was seen at a Black Lives Matter rally in New York.
Black Lives Matter is the protest which started after killing an unarmed African-American George Floyd in Minnesota by a policeman. The massacre sparked protests across the world.
Sethi took to his Instagram, shared his experience, and chanted Faiz’s poetry at the protest. Sethi wrote,
“I know it’s purple, but I can’t resist (or rather, it’s the way to resist): chanting Faiz’s protest poem ‘Aaj Bazaar Mein’ (‘Let’s March in the Streets’) in New York City, Black Lives Matter—and demanding reform is an expression of LOVE for a country,” .

One of Sethi’s fans asked him the reason for taking part in various protests? Sethi replied by saying that he has taken part in many protests in Pakistan, be it online or offline.
Sethi urged people to stop policing anyone for sufficient displays of outrage but to do their bit whenever and wherever they can.
