The American rapper Kanye West announced on his social media account that he will be running for president of the United States of America.
West wrote,
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States.”

He tweeted just a short while after U.S. President Donald Trump on the White House South Lawn celebrated the U.S. Independence Day, saying that “the radical left” had been erased.
A few minutes after the rapper’s tweet, #Kanye2020 became a top trend on Twitter.
Many of his fans supported Kanye including Elon Musk. He wrote,
“You have my full support”

However, it was not clear if West was serious about running for the presidency four months before the November 3 election or if he had submitted any official paperwork to appear on the ballots for the state election.
In several states of the USA, the deadline for adding independent candidates to the ballot has still not passed.
