Drama and film production companies of Pakistan and Turkey have announced to co-produce a TV series on the life of the revered Muslim commander Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi.

The agreement between the production companies of the two countries was reached on August 20 in Serbia and Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui was also present at the time of the agreement.

The agreement between Pakistani and Turkish productions was announced through posts shared by actor Adnan Siddiqui on social media accounts.

Adnan Siddiqui wrote in a post shared on Instagram: “Taking our commitment to strengthen ties with Turkey further, we embark on a new chapter of this friendship that, we hope, would lead to exchange of fabulous ideas and talent. It’s a win win for our industries and our audience who should look forward some good content coming their way.”

Adnan Siddiqui added, “Have collaborated with ….. to produce a magnum opus on the great warrior king, Salahuddin Ayyubi. Please partake in our happiness.”

On the other hand, a post by producer Kashif Ansari will also be shared with the photos taken at the time of the said agreement.

A video was also shared by Kashif Ansari in which the agreement was reached.

In the video, Adnan Siddiqui said that the agreement on the drama series was reached in the Serbian capital Belgrade.

Explaining the reason for not being present in Turkey for the agreement, he said that 14 days quarantine is required to go to Turkey.

Adnan Siddiqui further said that Humayun Saeed could not come with me due to some engagements otherwise he would have been here too.

In the video, he also introduces Emre Konuk, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and producer of Akli Films.

“We are here for an agreement on a series that Kashif Ansari and Emre Konok will talk about,” he said.

Referring to the series, producer Kashif Ansari said, “This is one of the most important days in the history of not only Pakistan but the world.”

Continuing, he said that scholars think tanks and politicians from Pakistan and Turkey who have written and understood the changes that have taken place in the world political landscape in the last 6 to 8 months, Together, we have thought about the role of Muslims in this whole scenario and in the centuries to come.

He said that as a result, it was decided that a drama series would be made on the life of Sultan Salahuddin Ayubi, who did not need any introduction, which would be a joint drama series between Pakistan and Turkey.

Producer Kashif Ansari said that actors and scriptwriters from both countries would be part of the drama series.

In addition, Turkish producer Emre Konuk, owner of Akli Films said in a Tweet, “A happy news on a blessed Friday night! Contract signed between Akli Films and Ansari&Shah Films about ‘Sultan Selahaddin Ayyubi’. May this international project, which will be prepared with the cooperation of Turkey and Pakistan, be beneficial to our country and our art world.”

The series, starring Turkish and Pakistani actors, will be shot in Turkey and 3 seasons of the play are planned.

Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi was the founder of the Ayyubi Empire and he defeated the Crusaders and re-liberated Jerusalem in 1187, nine decades later.

His Abyssinian empire ruled Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, the Hijaz, and Diyarbakir. He was known for his bravery, generosity, good morals, benevolence, and tolerance.
