Hundreds of people are expected to gather at Westminster Abbey on March 29 to commemorate the life of The Queen’s late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Prince Philip, who died on April last year at the age of 99, had spent decades by Her Majesty’s side.
Because of the tight limitations in place at the time, just small number of people attended his burial last year.

However, hundreds of relatives, friends, and colleagues will gather next week to commemorate the Prince’s incredible life.
The ceremony will “recognize the importance of his legacy” and honor the possibilities he provided for young people as well as his support for the military.
The thanksgiving celebration will also highlight his continuous commitment to the environment and conservation.

Other members of royal families from throughout the world, as well as The Duke of Edinburgh’s extended relatives and friends, will join the Royal Family.
The service will be attended by Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Kate, the Wessexes, and Prince Andrew.
The Queen has yet to announce if she will be able to attend, although the Palace has stated that she wants to do so.

Over 500 representatives of Prince Philip’s 700 patronages and charities, to which he spent much of his life, will attend the service at Westminister Abbey.
On the day, officials of the UK government, the Queen’s household, clergy and people of various faiths will all be present.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, which Philip established in 1956 for young people, will be highlighted, with a special homage offered by a Gold Award winner.

The Band of the Royal Marines will offer music before and after the service in honour of Philip’s long-standing engagement with the military services.
This comes after Philip’s grandson, Prince Harry, said that he would not be attending the ceremony due to a security issue.
When the petulant prince went for the United States, he claimed he would feel “unsafe” since he would lose his personal security.

Her Majesty was warned of his snub a quarter of an hour before his speech regarding Prince Philip’s service, according to senior advisors.
The ruling comes as a result of a High Court battle for Harry’s personal safety.
Angela Levin, Harry’s biographer, said: “He has snubbed the Duke of Edinburgh but really he is snubbing the Queen.”
