Everything Everywhere All At Once, A24’s SXSW opening, grossed an estimated $5.4 million in its sxth session, bringing its total to $26.9 million.

Following two years of the pandemic, A24’s SXSW opening Everything Everywhere All At Once has crossed the $20 million mark at the North American box office, a remarkable milestone for a platform release that will bring plenty of excitement at CinemaCon next week.

The film debuted on March 25 with just over $500,000 from ten theatres and grew from there, with a $50,000 per-theater average that was the best of the year so far and the second best of the pandemic, behind Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza, which earned $86,200 through MGM’s UA Releasing last year.

In its second session, Everything Everywhere All At Once grew to 38 locations, bringing the total gross to $1.8 million, before extending the number of locations to 1,250 in the third weekend, bringing the total gross to $8.4 million.

The picture earned $17.7 million in its fourth weekend after being expanded to 2,200 theatres, and it crossed the $20 million mark on April 20. The gross was $21.5 million at the time of writing. According to sources, A24’s marketing efforts were concentrated on digital and social media.

Michelle Yeoh plays a woman who becomes engrossed in a time-traveling quest to save the planet while seeing how her alternate lives might have turned out.

The film also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu, and James Hong, and is directed by the Daniels, whose previous film, Swiss Army Man, premiered at Sundance in 2016.
