It was confirmed on Tuesday about divorce of comedian Ali Wong and her husband Justin Hakuta after eight years of their marriage.

Justin have achieved many accomplishment under his belt, Wong has some of which also has used as material in her standup comedy. As Justin is a noted Fulbright scholar, tech entrepreneur and he is also son of very famous TV inventor Ken Hakuta a.k.a. Dr. Fad.

His father is Japanese-American creator who developed a famous 1980s-era toy which is called the Wacky Wall Walker, and also presented kids’ invention program ‘The Dr. Fad show’ from 1988 to 1944.

According to statement of his alma mater Carnegie Mellon, Justin Hakuta was awarded by Fulbright scholarship in 200 who funded his study in the Philippines, pertaining to combating human trafficking.

His impressive resume stints at different companies, currently as vice president of product at multimillion-dollar Tech Company named GoodRx.

In past interview Wong told that her husband left that post, and was working as her merch guy unofficially, selling T-shirts and swag at a booth at her standup shows to fans. Wong and Justin have two beautiful daughters, she have been open about her personal life in her standup, talking about everything from her life, miscarriages to the prenup she signed before marrying her husband.

In her 2018th comedy special Ali Wong ‘Hard Knock Wife’ she said, “It was not supposed to go down like this. I was supposed to be him. I’m supposed to be the one chilling. He graduated from Harvard Business School. I have a BA from UCLA in Ethnic Studies. No one could have predicted this outcome, so much so that before we got married, his family made me sign a prenup, and now if we get divorced, their son is f––.”

Duo confirmed they were divorcing by this week. Source told “It’s amicable and they will continue to co-parent lovingly,”

Wong met Justin at a friend’s wedding reception in 2010 and immediately hit it off. After a few years of being together, the couple tied knot in San Francisco on November 27, 2014. They later welcomed two daughters, Mari in 2015 and Nikki in 2017.

In her 2019 memoir addressed to her daughters, Wong also mentioned how she signed a prenup prior to tying the knot.

In result, Wong shared she became “more motivated to make my own money because I signed a document specifically outlining how much I couldn’t depend on my husband.”

She wrote, “My father always praised ‘the gift of fear,'” and that prenup scared the s— out of me. In the end, being forced to sign that prenup was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me and my career.”
