Camila Cabello revealed her “ever-present struggle” with body image under the spotlight of celebrity in a new interview released Tuesday, as well as how she prioritises her mental health. The 25-year-old singer admitted that her outward look belies what it took to get there, adding that she had a “very s**ty experience.”

Cabello unveils in an interview with PEOPLE that she looks up to her friend Selena Gomez, whom she believes to be a “someone with wonderful morals,” for inspiration. However, the Havana singer admitted that she frequently compares herself to other women she sees on social media and that, to escape the negative, she temporarily deletes apps like Instagram and TikTok.

As  per the pop star stated, “People can often look at these pictures of celebrities and want to change their diet or aspire to that.”

“I thought it was necessary for me to be like, “Hey, this isn’t necessarily something to aspire to. I might look a certain way, but I’ve had a really s**ty time, and that’s not a good way to be.”

“it’s an ever-present struggle, and I think a lot of women feel that way,” Camila remarked of her body image difficulties.

Camila recently turned to social media to talk about her personal difficulties with body image and to criticise society for having unreasonable expectations for how women should appear. Because of today’s culture’s “unrealistic” views of women, the singer admitted she is often “self-conscious” about wearing bikinis in public.
