TXT makes Hanteo history with the release of ‘minisode 2’

TOMORROW X TOGETHER has been flying to fresh heights with the release of their second mini album,’minisode 2: Thursday’s Child,’ on May 9! Hanteo Chart stated on May 10 that the highly anticipated EP had already sold one million copies in less than two days after its release. TOMORROW X TOGETHER have now surpassed BTS as the second-fastest artist to reach this milestone.

The compact album has already sold 1,034,271 copies by 12:10 p.m. IST on May 10, according to Hanteo Chart updates, with 918,412 copies sold on the first day, May 9. Furthermore, in its first week of release,’minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’ sold 1,248,370 copies, significantly double TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s previous first-week sales record of 630,563 copies established by their 2021 album ‘The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE.’

In addition, the group became one of just three other groups in Hanteo’s history (BTS, NCT DREAM, and SEVENTEEN) to ever sell one million albums in the first week after release. TOMORROW X TOGETHER has also made Hanteo history by being the first artist to sell over 1 million copies of an album in the first week of its release, according to the chart’s estimates.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER debuted in March 2019, therefore it only took them three years and two months to accomplish this accomplishment and create a new record. On the other hand,’minisode 2: Thursday’s Child’ has broken a record by selling the seventh most copies in its first week, trailing only BTS’ ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’, ‘BE’, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA’, and ‘Butter,’ NCT DREAM’s ‘Glitch Mode,’ and ‘SEVENTEEN’s ‘Your Choice’ and ‘Attacca.’
