Zac Efron discusses his role as a father in the upcoming Stephen King film adaption.
When Zac Efron played a father for the first time in the upcoming sci-fi movie ‘Firestarter,’ he “had no idea what he was doing.”
Efron told Ellen DeGeneres in the most recent episode of her show: “I didn’t really give it much thought.
“And then, when we began making the movie, I was placed on a two-week quarantine, and when I was released, we began filming on Monday, so it was a rather rapid introduction to the picture, and all of a sudden, I had this daughter in front of me.
“We had a pretty heavy dad-daughter scene right off the bat, and I realised I was drastically underprepared for this part. I didn’t know what I was doing.”
According to femalefirst.co.uk, the ’17 Again’ star said after filming that he will not be having children anytime soon.
He added: “I think that was a healthy dose to put me off for as long as necessary. I have a little bit more growing to do, probably.”
The 2022 sci-fi thriller is based on the 1984 film, which starred David Keith as Andy and Drew Barrymore as Andy’s daughter Charlie McGee and was based on Stephen King’s 1980 novel of the same name.
The film tells the story of a young girl who is trying to figure out how she acquired the mysterious power to light things on fire with her mind.
