Amber Heard reacts to Johnny Depp’s TikTok debut

• The actor thanked fans for their support in his first post on TikTok.
• Amber said it is a setback for people who want to come forward and speak out against domestic abuse.

Last week, the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard came to a close, with both stars being held responsible in the lawsuits they filed against one other, and Heard being forced to pay USD 15 million in damages to Depp. After the trial, Johnny stunned his admirers by joining TikTok and sharing his first post on the platform.

The actor thanked fans for their support in his first TikTok clip, emphasising his wish to put the trial behind him and move on, stating,  “We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. “ And now, we will all move forward together.”

This is the message of “moving forward”, Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, stated in a statement released through her spokeswoman, “”As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is … be afraid to stand up and speak out, ” via People.

This isn’t the first time Heard has discussed the impact of her defamation trial verdict on women’s rights organisations. Previously, after losing to Depp in the case, she said she was unhappy in what the judgement represented for women and termed it a setback for people who want to come forward and speak out against domestic abuse in an Instagram statement.

The defamation case stemmed from Heard’s op-ed in the Washington Post in 2018, in which she described herself as a domestic abuse survivor.
