Cameron Diaz is resuming her acting career in film with Jamie Foxx

Cameron Diaz announced to the world that she was retiring from acting in 2008. The news was shocking to her fans.

She played the prominent role of Tina Carlyle in The Mask, which is how many of them first became familiar with her. From there, they followed her career as a star in films like Minority Report, Charlie’s Angels, and Shrek. The fact that she is returning to the “big screen” through Twitter today is welcome news given her conviction that she was finished with Hollywood a few years ago.

Diaz will star in the hilariously titled action-comedy Back in Action on Netflix, her first film since Will Gluck’s Annie (2014). The only thing that is currently known about the film is that it is being directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), with Beau Bauman, Mark McNair, Datari Turner, Brendan O’Brien, and Jamie Foxx serving as producers. In relation to Foxx, he will co-star in the film with his friend.

Foxx and Diaz have a history of working wonders together on screen. In prior films like Annie, Any Given Sunday, and Vanilla Sky, the two have appeared together. based on their prior interactions.

This Diaz announcement’s delivery via Foxx’s Twitter account may have been its best feature. The There’s Something About Mary actress can be heard seeming both nervous and thrilled about coming out of retirement in the audio clip he shared on the platform.
