A significant Supreme Court ruling from 1973 called Roe v. Wade gave women nationwide access to abortion rights.

By overturning nearly 50 years of precedent and granting individual states the authority to determine whether to permit the procedure, the Supreme Court’s 6-to-3 decision would fundamentally alter the landscape of women’s reproductive rights. In the upcoming months, it is predicted that close to half of the nation would enact near-total restrictions.
