Anthony Mackie stars in ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’

Anthony Mackie reprises his long-time Marvel character, Sam Wilson, but not Falcon. In the Marvel Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which comes out in 2021, Wilson finally takes up the shield and name of Captain America.

The fourth Captain America movie will be directed by Nigerian-American Julius Onah. He is best known for making the 2018 thriller The Cloverfield Paradox.

Although the character’s future paths are unknown, something thought-provoking is probably in store. The script is being written by Winter Soldier creator and head writer Malcolm Spellman and staff writer Dalan Musson.

It is unknown if Chris Evans will return to the role of Steve Rogers, a.k.a. the original Captain America. However, if the issue of who is allowed to carry a shield is raised again, all bets are off. Also, stacked casts for solo movies are an important part of the Marvel formula right now. The start time has not been disclosed.

Onah was born in Markurdi, Nigeria, and moved around the world as a result of having a parent who was a diplomat before settling in the United States. His short films received festival attention, and Spike Lee agreed to serve as executive producer on his NYU film school thesis film.

He was chosen by J.J. Abrams to helm a film set in the Cloverfield universe, and while that studio production failed, he received positive reviews for his comeback indie drama Luce in 2019. At the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, the film Neon made its debut, starring Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Octavia Spencer. It received three nominations for the Indie Spirit Awards, including one for best director.
