GMA viewers criticise the programme for cutting off K-pop group Aespa’s live performance at the Summer Concert Series abruptly
Fans of GOOD Morning America have criticised the programme for stopping Aespa’s performance midway through on Friday.
The K-pop trio gave a handful of their songs a live TV performance as part of the Summer Concert Series, but eager spectators were unable to watch the entire performance.
Aespa, a South Korean girl trio, performed on the GMA stage in Central Park, New York City, to launch the show’s Summer Concert series.
While some fans patiently waited at home to watch them live on television, others patiently waited hours to see them perform in person.
The girls played their first single, Black Mamba, as well as a more recent song, Life’s Too Short, throughout their set.
Fans erupted at their performance of Girls, which was their final song of the day.
Aespa members were abruptly cut off from the broadcast by GMA while they were still singing and dancing.
Even though there were still a few minutes before the show ended, GMA took a break in the middle of the performance.
Fans criticised the show for not airing the conclusion, particularly since Girls is Aespa’s brand-new single.
It’s from the same-named EP by the trio, which came out on Friday—the same day as their significant GMA performance.
One incensed viewer tweeted, “Wtf? Mid-performance, you interrupted them. I can’t believe how rude this is.
One more asked imploringly, “Why did you cut it?”
One more yelled, “You cut them!!!!!!!”
“Why do you do that? I’ve been waiting for a couple of hours simply to watch Aespa.”
A fourth told GMA to “upload it” because “you just cut it.”
Another concurred, saying, “Better upload it, you cut it before ending.”
Fans still experienced difficulties because everyone wanted to watch at the same time even after some of the performances were added to their website.
One irate fan tweeted, “You cut it short, but now all MYs are at your website and the video isn’t buffering because of the traffic.”
In addition to their performance, Aespa talked a little bit about their new music and how thrilled they are to be appearing on GMA in an interview.
Girls is our second mini-album, and you will see a more stronger version of us, Giselle said.
We’ll overcome the villain after we’ve fully ended the Metaverse saga we began with our first song, Black Mamba.
Ningning stated of their latest festival performance in California: “Coachella was wonderful.”
