Kanye West won’t be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022. The festival’s organisers announced on social media that the rapper and fashion mogul, who now goes by the name Ye, will not be the main act on the opening night of the event on July 22.
Rolling Loud tweeted, “Due to things outside of our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022.” They also said that Kid Cudi would be taking Ye’s place.
Rolling Loud co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler released the following statement about the cancellation: “We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing. This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”
Ye has already played as a special guest at Rolling Loud California 2021, which was his first festival since before the coronavirus pandemic. Last year, there were rumours that the famous rapper would be a special guest at Rolling Loud Miami. However, he ended up not going on stage because his 10th studio album, Donda, was delayed.
Future (July 23) and Kendrick Lamar (July 24) will be the main acts at Rolling Loud Miami, which will be held July 22–24 at Hard Rock Stadium. Playboi Carti, Lil Durk, Lil Uzi Vert, DaBaby, Gucci Mane, Lil Baby, Kodak Black, and other artists are also on the list.
Ye has already cancelled his headlining spot at Coachella in April 2022. This is the second festival performance he has cancelled in 2022. The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia took the place of the hip-hop star.
Ye made his long-awaited return to the stage earlier this month in Los Angeles. He did a cameo during a show headlined by The Game, who was promoting his new album, Drillmatic: Heart vs. Mind. It was Ye’s first time on stage in almost five months, and it was the first time “Eazy,” a fiery song he and The Game put out in January, was played live.
