Gal Gadot spoke up about her role as the Evil Queen in Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White during the D23 Expo on Friday at the Anaheim Convention Center. The Red Notice star, 37, revealed some fascinating facts about working on the highly anticipated film, including how she isn’t used to playing a villain on screen.

She was accompanied by Rachel Zegler, the next film’s leading woman, who described playing the legendary Disney princess as a “honour.”

Gadot told Deadline that the character is “quite different from what I had done before,” and that she is “accustomed to portraying the other end of where the heart should be.”

Despite her usual role as a heroine, Gadot described the opportunity to play the ‘iconic villain’ as ‘delightful.’

‘Getting under her skin was so amazing,’ she said, adding that the Evil Queen is not her real-life persona.

The live-action adaptation of Snow White began in 2016, and three years later, Marc Webb agreed to direct the film.

It should be noted that Gadot and Zegler were revealed as the film’s two leads in June of last year.

Greta Gerwig agreed to co-write the screenplay for the film that November.

Andrew Burnap and Martin Klebba, who will play Grumpy, are also on the cast list.
