If you like Henry Cavill’s Superman, you’ll love the Black Adam mid-credits scene. In addition to hinting at his return to the DC universe, the scene left the door open for Cavill’s Superman to face Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam in a later film. And I could not be more thrilled as a major admirer of Cavill’s portrayal of the Man of Steel.

The choice to include Superman in the mid-credits scene may seem obvious, but remember how DC and Warner Bros. teased the audience with the first Shazam! movie. If you recall, Superman does make an appearance, but it’s just from the neck down, making it impossible to tell who is wearing the suit. I cannot explain how disappointing this was for Cavill fans like me. I hated that sequence and still left the cinema appreciating the movie.

This takes me to my most recent Dwayne Johnson interview for Black Adam. Johnson wanted Henry Cavill to play Superman in the movie, according to various sources, but the studio was pushing back. People have been telling me that Cavill will appear in the movie’s mid-credits scene or as a cameo for a very long time.

But then I started to hear that it wouldn’t happen. I didn’t understand Johnson had pulled it done and made the cameo happen until I saw the movie at the first press screening in Los Angeles. I was so thrilled to be leaving the theater, you had no idea.

He claims that Cavill’s comeback as Superman was approved by the current WB management, which suggests that the former WB/DC administration was responsible for delaying its occurrence.

Johnson also discussed Superman and how that came about, the significance of portraying Black Adam accurately and in accordance with his mythology (which required showing Black Adam killing people), and the reasons why he wanted the awesome fight scene between him and Hawkman to highlight the superpowers that Black Adam possesses and to be able to show someone who can move very quickly.

Quintessa Swindell, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Pierce Brosnan all appear in the Jaume Collet-Serra film Black Adam. Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, Johnson, and Dany Garcia created Black Adam.

Therefore, the first question I asked Johnson when we got down for an interview was, “How did it happen?”. His business partner, Dany Garcia, is also Cavill’s manager, so he began by describing how he and his team have known Cavill for a very long time and how they wanted to offer the fans what they wanted. Yet it wasn’t simple.
