Gran Turismo casts Action Star and Spice Girl

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner is transitioning into the realm of racing with Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions’ movie version of Gran Turismo, according to a new claim from sources.

Action star Djimon Hounsou has also joined the cast. Cast members David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Darren Barnett, Archie Madekwe, Daniel Puig, Josh Stradowski, and German actor Thomas Kretschman are currently filming the movie in Hungary.

The film based on the popular PlayStation game of the same name is regarded as the “ultimate wish-fulfillment story.”

It focuses on a teen Gran Turismo player whose exceptional gaming talents won him a series of Nissan contests to become a real-life professional racing car driver. Madekwe plays a young youngster who is taught to drive by the character portrayed by Harbour, a retired driver.

Halliwell-Horner and Hounsou portray the adolescent’s parents, whereas Puig portrays his sibling. Stradowski is a rival driver, and Kretschman portrays Stradowski’s father.

While Halliwell-Horner has previously been on reality television and in documentaries, she has also had brief appearances in feature films such as Sex and the City on HBO and Fat Slags (2004).

In addition to appearing alongside her bandmates in Gran Turismo, she made a rare appearance in a narrative film.

Ginger Spice, from the renowned English girl band Spice Girls, the pop group that sold over 100 million records and became the best-selling female group, is a popular name among millennials.

Her selection makes perfect sense given that her husband, Christian Horner, is the team principal for Red Bull’s Formula One team. Who better to play the mother of an aspiring racer than the former Spice Girl?

Hounsou has been nominated twice for an Academy Award for his performances in films such as In America and Blood Diamond.

He is also one of the few performers to have appeared in both MCU and DC films, having starred in Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Aquaman, and Shazam, among others.

He appeared briefly in Black Adam, the passion project of Dwayne Johnson. His filmography also includes A Quiet Place II, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Never Back Down.

He recently concluded production on Zack Snyder’s Netflix film Rebel Moon and will appear in Shazam! The rage of the gods.

Neil Blomkamp, who is most known for directing films like as District 9 and Elysium, is in charge of Gran Turismo.

The screenplay was written by Jason Hall (American Sniper) and Zach Baylin based on a genuine story (King Richard).
