Daniel Craig always loved paying James Bond
Daniel Craig has stated that he despises the attention he has received since being cast as James Bond in 2006 and that he still finds stardom “strange.”
Craig, who has played James Bond in five films, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die, was the Tribute Honoree at the 2022 Montclair Film Festival, where Stephen Colbert moderated a discussion at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
According to GVN, Daniel stated, “I used to hate it, but I think that was fame I didn’t like. I had to get used to being famous which is still so foreign to me.”
Daniel remarked that the public’s reaction to his casting was, “Everybody f*****g hated me.”
The native of Chester bid farewell to the role in 2021’s No Time To Die, with Henry Cavill, Regé Jean-Page, and Tom Hardy among the frontrunners to portray 007 in the future.
On Tuesday, Daniel was recently awarded a Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George, the same honor held by his popular film character James Bond.
The award was conferred by Princess Royal at Windsor Castle in celebration of the actor’s great contributions to film and theater.
The official Twitter account of the Royal Family published a photo of Daniel getting his honor alongside the classic James Bond line, “We’ve been expecting you.”
Daniel featured in the five most recent James Bond films beginning in 2006 and concluding with No Time To Die in 2021.
In costume as 007, he appeared in a sketch with the Queen to commemorate the beginning of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
