The Continental, a spin-off of the John Wick film franchise from Lionsgate, has a home on Prime Video’s global streaming service. The series’ transfer from Starz to Peacock in the United States was previously confirmed. It makes sense because the Keanu Reeves-starring franchise is already housed on the streaming service.

The prequel series, co-written and co-run by Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward, will transport viewers back in time to delve further into the inner workings of the “ultra exclusive” Continental Hotel. It will be narrated from the viewpoint of Winston Scott, the hotel manager, who was originally portrayed by Ian McShane in the movie series but is currently being performed by Colin Woodell. Fans will follow Winston through the seedier side of 1970s New York in the three-part series. He will struggle with ghosts from his past as he strives to take over the renowned hotel, which acts as a safe haven and gathering place for the most dangerous criminals in the world.

The John Wick franchise, which debuted in 2014 and has a cumulative worldwide total of more than $587 million, is universally regarded as a critical and financial triumph. The movie John Wick: Chapter 4 will be released on March 24, 2023, and is now in post-production. The company had planned to film Chapter 4 and the fifth instalment back-to-back, but the pandemic caused the schedule to change. Chris Mansolillo, Director, Content Acquisition at Amazon, spoke on the partnership and praised the John Wick movies for building “one of the most immersive, rich, and enjoyable universes.” ” Further adding, “We are extremely proud to play a part in continuing to build that universe, offering viewers an insight into the origins of the infamous Continental Hotel and its incredible characters.”

The prequel series also has Mel Gibson as Cormac, Ayomide Adegun as a young Charon, Peter Greene as Uncle Charlie, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD, and Nhung Kate as Yen in addition to Woodell in the major part. Along with Albert Hughes, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road Pictures, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Marshall Persinger, Coolidge and Ward also serve as the show’s executive producers.

The Continental hasn’t yet had a release date announced. The following is a transcript of our interview with filmmaker Stahelski on John Wick: Chapter 4
