Takeoff, a member of the hip hop trio Migos, was shot and killed on November 1 in Houston. Below, you can see eulogies from Teyana Taylor, Ja Rule, Keke Palmer, and more.
The sudden passing of Takeoff has the hip hop scene in shock.
A representative for the rapper confirmed to the Associated Press that the rapper, who is a member of the group Migos along with Offset and Quavo, was tragically murdered on November 1 in Houston. He was 28.
At a news conference, authorities confirmed that Takeoff, whose actual name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, and Quavo were present at the private party that was taking place at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston at the time of the incident.
When Houston police arrived, they reported that two further casualties had been brought to nearby hospitals and that a man had been declared dead at the site.
The victim was identified by the authorities as a Black man in his 20s. They have, however, vowed to withhold his identify until his family has been informed. Uncle to the late rapper Quavo wasn’t hurt in the shooting.
In 2008, Takeoff started performing as part of the group Migos with Quavo and Offset. The group became well-known because to their 2013 single “Versace.”
Over the course of their career, Migos have amassed four Top 10 Billboard successes, including the No. 1 single “Bad and Boujee,” which spent three weeks at the top of the charts, and the songs “Stir Fry,” “Walk It Talk It,” and “Motorsport,” which features Nicki Minaj and Offset’s wife, Cardi B.
After Migos disbanded earlier this year, Takeoff and Quavo founded the group Unc & Phew. Only Built for Infinity Links, their debut album, was released last month.
