Kit Harrington teases a Jon Snow-centered “Game of Thrones” spinoff
Kit Harington of Game of Thrones will portray a “gnarly” character that is utterly unlike Jon Snow, the actor claimed in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. In the eight-season run of the HBO fantasy series, which ended in 2019, Harington is best known for playing Jon Snow. Many people think Snow is a really honourable character. Fans may anticipate seeing a whole different side of Harington as the antagonist Ricky in the upcoming action-thriller Blood for Dust. As mentioned in the interview, Harrington was initially drawn to the part because of the opportunity to play such an unconventional character.
The Eternals star discussed the appeal of playing such a “gnarly character” saying, “It’s not necessarily a part that I would generally get offered, and that’s quite interesting to me.” Harington also touched upon branching out into different roles, and the inevitable fear of doing so:
“At the moment, and for the last couple of years, I’m trying to — and that’s another reason why I wanted to play this role — take roles that I’m a bit scared about doing. It’s fun playing a baddie, I think. I spent a long time playing the epitome of a good, honest human, trying to do the right thing that everyone’s rooting for. And maybe this is a reaction to the length of time I was doing that.”
Fans will have to wait till later to learn more about Harrington’s evil new character. Ricky is a renowned drug dealer of illicit firearms, nevertheless.
Cliff (Scoot McNairy), who is trying to support a struggling family, is the main character in Blood for Dust. But as the traveling salesman makes touch with an old coworker, Ricky, things start to turn around for him (Harington). Cliff soon learns that his old friend’s motives might not be as good as they first appear to be, and he finds himself on a precarious path. Josh Lucas will also appear in the movie as the leader of an American cartel.
The movie, which is being produced by Rob Blackhurst and David Ebeltoft, is now in pre-production. Therefore, information regarding a potential release date has not yet been made public. Additionally, Noah Lang, Mark Fasano, and Bernard Kira will produce the movie. David Ebeltoft and Ford Corbett are the executive producers. The movie is scheduled to start shooting in November 2022.
