‘Alien’ film that Fede Alvarez, who helmed and wrote Evil Dead, is slated to write. The only thing we knew about the impending, highly anticipated film up until this point was that it was in the planning stages, but recent data suggests that things are moving much more quickly than anticipated.

The next Alien project, which has the working title Alien: Romulus, is already in pre-production, and it already has a location and a start date for filming, according to a recent entry on the website of the Film & Television Industry Alliance.

According to the website, Alien: Romulus will begin main photography on February 6, 2023. This implies that some news will undoubtedly surface over the course of the next few months that can shed more light on this apparent shift in strategy.

The website also states that Budapest, Hungary will serve as the series’ primary setting, or at least its first. Thus, during the first week of February, the European city will undoubtedly be the focus of all geek attention.

The fact that Alien: Romulus will begin filming so soon also implies that as 2023 approaches, we should hear some casting announcements, and a projected release date will undoubtedly appear on the horizon.

At this point, the only piece of information we have about the project is the addition of Cailee Spaeny (Mare of Easttown) to the cast.

The only thing we can be certain of is that the infamous xenomorph will return to threaten humans once more, but we are also unsure of where this project will fit into the overall Alien franchise.

It’s interesting to note that the working title also alludes to European mythology, even if there’s a good likelihood that the Alvarez film isn’t closely related to the franchise’s most recent two instalments: Romulus is credited as one of the founders of Rome in Roman mythology, whereas Prometheus alluded to a Greek titan who created humans.

Of course, this could just be a playful title to work with, but if it ends up being the chosen name, there will be plenty of room for speculation. At the same time, it is clear that lvarez was not chosen at random to write and direct the film.

The director gained notoriety in the horror cinema industry, and in the 2017 instalment Alien: Covenant, the Alien franchise flirted much more with its horror roots.

One of the most well-known sci-fi and horror movie franchises is Alien. The narrative revolves around a large, aggressive alien species that utilizes humans as their egg-laying hosts.

Five sequels and two Predator-related movies have been produced since the first film, which is regarded as a masterpiece of cinema.

Prey, which tells the story of an alien invasion 300 years in the past and is regarded as one of the best movies from 2022, coincidentally also received a standalone film recently.

The title of Alien: Romulus has not yet been confirmed by 20th Century Studios, nor have any other details been disclosed. Watching the venerable trailer will allow you to briefly enter the universe.
