Andy Cohen won’t be drinking in CNN’s New Year’s Eve show
Andy Cohen has stopped drinking and he won’t be drinking in CNN’s New Year’s Eve show.
A confirmation has been received that the “Watch What Happens Live” host that neither he nor Anderson Cooper will be drinking during this weekend’s New Year’s Eve program on CNN.
Cohen’s statement followed his claim that he would drink during the show despite CNN forbidding its contributors from doing so in an interview with Rolling Stone that was published on Wednesday but filmed more than a month earlier.
Cohen informed the publication that “CNN said the correspondents will not be drinking.” “Anderson and I will be the ones having a good time on CNN, but we will be having a good time responsibly.”
The show’s creator also made light of the fact that he would “burn the place” and “go out” to his base of operations at Bravo soon after the ball drops.
For everyone who is watching us on New Year’s Eve, “my role is to be a party ringleader,” Cohen told the magazine. And I’ll keep acting that way.
While Cohen, 54, received praise for his witty criticism of Mayor Bill de Blasio last year, he also came under fire from Ryan Seacrest after calling the ABC host’s team and production a “bunch of losers.” Despite offering an apology the next day, Cohen still seems to be drawing criticism from Seacrest.
The “Live! With Kelly and Ryan” co-host backed CNN’s alcohol prohibition this week, saying, “[I don’t] think they would say what they said about our performers if they weren’t drinking.”
Even if CNN’s bars are empty, fans will always have “WWHLwild “‘s setup.
