Nia Long is again criticizing the Boston Celtics for how they handled the cheating scandal involving her ex-boyfriend Ime Udoka.

On the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Peacock’s The Best Man: The Final Chapters on Wednesday night, the 52-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight that she was upset with how Udoka’s former team told people about his affair with a subordinate in the organization.

“It feels like no one cared about me or my kids. There was no protection,” Long said, referring to Massai Zhivago Dorsey II, her son with her ex-boyfriend Massai Z. Dorsey, and Kez Sunday, her son with Udoka, 45.

She also said, “I think the Celtics were careless, and it was hurtful.” “It really was, because we were treated like family, and then I was like, ‘Well, what happened?’ But I’m figuring it out.”

In September, only weeks before the NBA season, the Boston Celtics announced Udoka’s dismissal. Udoka disobeyed “team rules,” hence his future with the squad is uncertain.

ESPN’s Malika Andrews questioned Udoka about the connection, and he responded. He apologised to players, fans, the Celtics organisation, and his family. “I’m sorry I put the team in a tight position, but I agree with their decision.”

“Out of respect for everyone involved,” he stated.

“Family, friends, and the community’s love and support mean a lot to me at this difficult time.

I’ll always put my kids first as a parent.”

13-year-olds Long and Udoka split up. Nia is focusing on her children and reconstructing her life, a source added.

A Long spokeswoman said the pair is “no longer together, but they’re still parenting Kez together.”

I’m trying to find humanity in all of it while working and being a parent.

The singer said her new Los Angeles home gave her a fresh start. Long added, “I adore my new home. It’s so quiet, secluded, and calm.”
