Daredevil fans can expect a huge change says Charlie Cox

Daredevil fans can expect a sort of rebirth when the show moves to a new streaming home.

The first three seasons of the popular Marvel Comics show, which was made by Drew Goddard, were shown on Netflix from 2015 to 2018. But in November 2018, the show was taken off the air.

Now, the show is coming back as Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The actor who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Charlie Cox, talked about what to expect from the new show.

“This has to be a rebirth, and it has to be different,” Cox, who is 40, told NME. “Why do it if we don’t have to?”

Fans recently got to see Cox’s main character in an episode of She-Hulk in which Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk hooks up with Murdock, who is played by Cox.

Daredevil fans were used to seeing Cox’s Murdock in a different way than what they saw on She-Hulk. He was “quick-witted, funny, charismatic, and sometimes carefree,” the actor said. Cox thinks that there will be some similarities and some differences between Daredevil: Born Again and the dark character that fans used to know.

He said, “In my opinion, this character works best when he’s written for a slightly older audience.” “I think Disney+ will be dark, but I don’t think it will be as bloody.”

Fans who wanted to see the story of Murdock/Daredevil continue from the first series, Cox said, “I would tell those people that we’ve done that.”

“Let’s use what really worked, but can we make it bigger?” he asked. “Can we appeal to a slightly younger crowd without losing what we’ve learned about what works?”
