Dwayne Johnson updated Black Adam’s DC future. Negative.
“James Gunn and I chatted, and Black Adam won’t be in their first story chapter,” the 50-year-old Red Notice star stated Tuesday on Instagram. DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to use Black Adam in future DC universe novels.
End of October, Gunn, 56, and Peter Safran were named DC Studios co-chairmen and CEOs. The DCU will change, they’ve said. Black Adam 2 isn’t included in these revisions, at least not yet.
“We’ve always wanted each other to accomplish well,” Johnson remarked. “I still want DC (and Marvel) to win BIG.”
Teremana Tequila’s founder commented, “You know I have thick skin and can always say what I mean.” James and DC’s leaders made creative decisions for DCU. Black Adam was done after 15 years of appreciation, humility, and love. Excellent!”
Gunn retweeted Johnson, “I’m excited to see what @TheRock and Seven Bucks do next. Love working with you.”
Adam, Johnson’s godlike protagonist, was followed by Black Adam. After 5,000 years in prison, he’s back to get even. It grossed $391 million worldwide. Black Adam needed $600 million after marketing costs, according to some claims. Johnson tweeted on December 7 that the film should be profitable.
I didn’t reveal #BlackAdam news until investors confirmed it. Our film will make $52M-$72M. Fact. At $400 million worldwide, we’re building DC’s new franchise “Initially, he tweeted.
