The British actress took to Twitter after being delayed for 20 hours in Antigua, calling British Airways’ service “dodgy.”

Thousands of passengers were grounded at airports in England, the U.S., and Canada on Tuesday morning due to faults with the aircraft’s flight planning software, which helps pilots prepare for weather conditions. The Independent reports that at least 35 flights were delayed or cancelled overnight due to software upgrades.

British Airways told  that the delays posed no safety concerns and that the issues were remedied, but passengers, including Hurley, were unhappy. “No food, water, or hotel. @British Airways shady service, “Hurley tweeted at the airline that she had no travel options.

Hurley found an alternate way to fly, but the airline responded hours later: “Elizabeth. Please send us a DM with more specifics.” Hurley is among the holiday tourists using plane travel.

The Transportation Security Administration expects airport security checkpoints to be busy on Dec. 22 and 30. “We witnessed the highest throughput volume since 2019 throughout Thanksgiving,” stated TSA Administrator David Pekoske. “We predict wait times of 30 minutes or less in regular lines and 10 minutes or less in TSA PreCheck lanes. Some checkpoints may reach capacity.”
