‘Gen V’ casts Jason Ritter, Alexander Calvert, and Clancy Brown
Alexander Calvert, the legendary Clancy Brown, and Jason Ritter are among the new cast members who have joined the bloody spinoff series, according to the Gen V trailer, which was unveiled during Prime Video’s panel at CCXP. Eric Kripke has reconnected with other former Supernatural cast members outside of The Boys.
The trailer offered a few intriguing and hilarious hints, or should we say Ks, about what the trio will be doing in Generation V, but it didn’t reveal too much.
Ritter can be seen in the trailer sitting next to a shady-looking puppet on Avenue V while wearing a Mr. Rogers outfit; this is unmistakably Vought International’s take on Sesame Street combined with Avenue Q.
Throughout the trailer, puppets that are covered in blood and engaged in criminal activity repeatedly appear.
This reminds me a little bit of Angel’s in-world Smile Time. Other gun-wielding scenes can be seen in the trailer, while Calvert is later seen dancing to music on his phone while sporting bleach-blond hair that resembles Draco Malfoy’s.
The ivy-covered walls of Vought International’s very own university appear to be the source of many thrills and chills for Gen V.
The only university in the country for gifted young adults is Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. Additionally, it’s the scene where spectators can observe the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they test their moral, sexual, and physical boundaries in a bid to win the school’s top spot.
There will be a lot of all three of those things happening, if the trailer is any indication. It is after all a sequel to The Boys. What did you anticipate? Happy endings forever?
The cast of Gen V consists of Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn. As special guests, Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne will also play their previous roles.
Craig Rosenberg created Gen V, with Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serving as executive producers and co-showrunners. Along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr, Kripke and Rosenberg also serve as executive producers.
