Now that audiences know when Disney+’s original live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian will return in March, the anticipation and excitement can begin to build.

Producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni were on hand via video at Brazil’s Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) to share a brand-new look at the upcoming season, which features The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal/Brendan Wayne) himself, as well as his tiny Force-sensitive son Grogu, who has some new skills to show off.

The trailer is an expanded version of the one shown at Star Wars Celebration, and it focuses on what happens next for the title character after he makes the conscious decision to remove his helmet.

He decides to go to Mandalore, as we’ve seen before. The trailer also shows Coruscant and monkey lizards, as well as several Mandolorians cooperating.

Grogu is also shown pushing a figure out of a cave, indicating that he will continue to explore the Force. Bo Katan (Katee Sackhoff) confronts the Mandalorian about his absence during the war and foresees an honorless future for him. The series appears to be at an all-time high in terms of production, with even more locations and mind-blowing cinematography.

Many returning cast members will appear in the new season, including Emily Swallow as The Armorer, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Captain Carson Teva, Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing, and Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto.

According to Favreau, the new season will be much larger in scale than previous seasons, with even more Mandalorians cooperating.

Following the conclusion of Andor on Disney+ in November, the series will be the next live-action Star Wars series to air on the streaming service; however, the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to debut on the platform in January.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ on March 1, 2023.
